Fragrance has a funny way of doing that — one smell and suddenly you’re somewhere else entirely.

This candle takes me back to one of Darren and my first getaways after we were married. Early 2000s. Blue Mountain in Collingwood. The kind of place where you stroll slowly through little village shops, window-shopping more than buying.

And then I saw it.

That store with the yellow sign I’d only ever seen in magazines.

I walked in like I had entered a different world.

Picked up the tester.

Squeezed the original lemon verbena hand cream.

And that scent… bright citrus, fresh verbena, just a soft sweetness underneath.

I remember thinking, this is luxury.

This candle brings me right back to that moment —

wandering through the shops, feeling a little fancy, and realizing sometimes the smallest things can feel like the biggest treat.
