Dutton's Den
Let us begin with the obvious. Kevin Costner walking away in a pair of jeans did not hurt the creative process.
I came late to Yellowstone and watched a few animal scenes through my fingers, but I quickly understood why everyone loved it. This was one of the first eight candles I sampled almost two years ago. I wore the fragrance on my wrists and knew immediately that it was gorgeous.
I have always called it a rugged vanilla. “Spiced vanilla” makes it sound like a holiday candle, and this is ordered all year. The vanilla is not sugary or dessert-like. It wraps around tobacco, cacao, tonka bean, dried fruit and deep woods, smoothing everything into something warm, confident and incredibly polished.
The tobacco note smells like rich cured leaf and tobacco blossom, not cigarettes or stale smoke. Aromatic spice adds warmth without turning festive, while cacao and dried fruits create a subtle sweetness beneath the woods.
This fragrance is inspired by Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille. I even took myself to Sephora and compared the two in person. The designer bottle is lovely, but my name is not Tom Ford and neither is my pricing.
The scent throw sits between Room Filling and Strong. It gives the entire room a warm, expensive feeling and works beautifully on anyone. It is rugged without being rough, rich without becoming heavy and completely free from seasonal rules.
