This is the wild card on my candle shelf. It does not fit neatly into bakery, candy or nutty, and that is exactly why I love it.
On cold throw, it keeps a few secrets. You may catch malt, a little pecan and something warm that you cannot quite place. Give it time to form a proper melt pool and the entire fragrance begins to change.
Warm butter and brown sugar come forward first, followed by toasted pecans, soft toffee and creamy vanilla. Roasted nuts add depth, but the malt is what makes it unlike any other candle I have encountered. It gives the fragrance a warm, toasted creaminess that is difficult to describe but very easy to keep smelling.
This is not one to judge from a quick cold sniff at a market. It needs a little time to warm up and show you what it can do.
It is delicious without being overly sweet. There is no chocolate and no baked dough. Just buttery pecan, golden toffee, vanilla and that wonderfully unusual malted finish.
The scent throw is Room Filling. It builds gradually, then settles throughout the space and has people asking, “What is that?” It is a conversation candle in the very best way.
